My name is Ella Hebron and I am 16 years old. In August 2022 a couple of weeks after I turn 18, I will be setting sail from the UK heading for South American on the Clipper round the world yacht race. Once in South America, I will temporarily leave my crew and rejoin them in South Africa to cross the mighty Southern Ocean to Fremantle, Australia. At this point I will wave goodbye to my crew mates as the head across the rest of the globe. My dream is to raise sufficient funds to enable me to stay with my crew for the entire circumnavigation of the globe, a challenge that will take 11 months: Weather dependent, I would complete the circumnavigation before turning 19, and be the youngest Clipper crew to circumnavigate the globe. I found it very difficult to choose only 2 legs to complete as all the legs really appealed to me.
